The Karts
Compu-Kart Raceway have imported specially designed karts for indoor racing. I Apart from slick tyres, it is equiped with a 6hp, 200cc 4-stroke Briggs & Stratton engine which is ideally suited for indoor conditions. Front and rear bumpers, together with protective side pods are fitted for your safety. The karts are capable of up to 65kph, that's very fast when you're only 3cm from the surface of the track.
The Track
The 300 meter long professionally designed circuit is 6 meters wide, allowing plenty of room for overtaking, and has 6 corners. The safety barrier is made up of formula 3000 racing tyres, which are softer than the ordinary road tyres used at most other circuits and are of uniform size, providing a more stable barrier. The track surface is treated and maintained to ensure maximum traction even with the most inexperienced driver.
Spectator Enclosure
A large enclosure on the mezanine floor offers a superb panoramic and unobstructed view of the entire circuit. Our bar is also situated up here, where alcoholic drinks can be enjoyed by spectators not driving. Below at the side of the track pit lane are a number of chairs tables for awaiting drivers who want to get closer to the action. In both areas there is a TV for viewing up-to-date racing results to ensure you are still in with a podium chance. DSTV is also available for your viewing so that no important sporting events or Grand Prix's are missed!
Race Control System
Compu-Kart's electro-magnetic race control system constantly keeps you informed of your progress on the track. On arrival, your nome and driver number are keyed into the computerised data base and your lop times and overall position will be there to view throughout the entire race meeting. At the end of your event you will be presented with a computer printout of result details.
The Racing Kit
Full face or open crash helmets are supplied in various sizes for your comfort. Due to the nature of karting we insist that helmets be worn by every driver while racing. We also supply protective hygenic head caps which are optional t9 each drivers preferance.
